Valen Editorial Ltd works with authors and publishers across the UK, North America, and Australia at every stage of manuscript development.

Before founding the agency, I spent ten years as a psychodynamic psychotherapist. I also founded and edited a peer-reviewed psychoanalytic journal for three years.

My academic background includes a BA in Psychology, an MA in Economics, and an MA in Clinical Psychology. I have taught at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa and was awarded a fully funded PhD place in Economics.

Editorial collaborations include The Oxford Editors (UK), Rowanvale Books (UK), BookPOD (AU), Charles Kerr (US), and Chiron Publications (US). I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading.

The 50th issue of On Writing, my monthly newsletter on writing, psychoanalysis and philosophy, was published in June 2026.
